Frequently asked questions
What does a white-label development partnership with Codingkart look like in practice?
We work as your white-label development team, handling Shopify or WooCommerce engineering while you maintain client relationships. In practice, this means we join your project management tool, communicate through your preferred channel, and deliver work that your agency presents under its own brand. We do not pursue direct relationships with clients you have introduced to us, do not run campaigns targeting your client base, and do not propose work to your clients independently. Every engagement starts with a brief from you and ends with a delivery to you. The client experience stays entirely within your agency's relationship.
What types of ecommerce development work do you take on as a white-label partner?
Primarily, Shopify, Shopify Plus, and WooCommerce backend work for subscription ecommerce brands. This covers custom app development, subscription system engineering, Checkout UI Extensions, complex integrations with ERP and CRM systems, and platform migrations. We do not take on brand strategy, creative, paid media, or general web design. That focus is what makes the partnership clean. We do what your agency does not do, and your agency does what we do not do. If you work with subscription ecommerce brands and regularly encounter development requirements that your team cannot handle, that is a direct fit for this partnership.
What happens if a client we refer wants to engage Codingkart directly after the project?
We do not pursue direct relationships with clients that your agency has introduced to us. We do not run campaigns targeting your client base, make direct contact outside the engagement you have introduced us to, or propose additional work to your clients independently. The client relationship stays yours throughout and after every project. If you want to formalise this with a non-disclosure or referral partner agreement, we are happy to work within that structure and can provide a template if needed.
How do you handle confidentiality around client work?
We treat every referred client as confidential by default. We do not reference their brand publicly, do not include their work in our portfolio without explicit permission, and do not use the introduction to pursue a direct relationship. If you want to formalise this with a non-disclosure agreement or a referral partner agreement, we are happy to work within that structure. Most of our agency partnerships operate on the basis of a brief partnership agreement that covers the scope of work, confidentiality, and the terms of the referral relationship. We can provide a template or work within yours.
What is the commercial arrangement? Do you pay referral fees or mark-up pricing?
This is flexible and discussed per partnership. Some agencies prefer a markup model where we give them our cost, they add their margin, and they invoice the client directly. Some prefer a referral fee model where we invoice the client and pay the agency a percentage of the project value. Some agencies simply want a reliable development partner and are not looking for a commercial incentive. We are open to whichever model works for your agency's structure. There is no single correct arrangement. What matters is that the model is agreed upon before the first project starts.
How quickly can you turn around a scope and estimate for a referred project?
For most referrals, we give you a detailed scope and cost estimate within 48 business hours of receiving the brief. For complex projects such as a full platform migration with active subscribers or a custom Shopify app with multiple integrations, we may ask for a discovery call before quoting. We do not give ballpark estimates. An agency presenting an estimate to a client needs a number they can stand behind, not a range that is wide enough to be meaningless. We scope accurately before committing, which means the estimate we give you is the estimate you can give your client.
